Packing: Holiday Edition

With the holidays approaching and many preparing to travel, I thought I’d share some of my favorite suitcases and packing essentials!

Carry - On Flex | Away Travel

First up is the Carry-On Flex from Away Travel that is ideal for 1-2 night trips. Some may manage to stretch it to 2-3 nights, but as someone who loves having outfit options, I find it challenging to do so. The customization option is the main highlight, allowing you to monogram with a variety of colors. They are my go-to Bar and Bat Mitzvah gift, and they also work as a graduation present!

Filing Cabinet Pouch | Anya Hindmarch

I adore Anya Hindmarch’s pieces for travel! This rainbow bag is a favorite of mine that I use to carry makeup. It’s easy enough to squeeze into any large purse or suit-case and it has lasted me for many years. Plus, the colors are super fun.

In Flight Bag | Anya Hindmarch

This is perfect for traveling. It has so many pockets, all with the cutest labels marked on the outer and inner compartments –‘chargers,’ ‘water,’ ‘headphones’ etc. – ideal for staying organized (and also remembering to pack a charger!) It also slides right over the handle of your suitcase, making it easy to carry around a train station or airport.

Split Roller 110L Bag | Dakine

Lightweight, spacious, and reasonably priced, this duffel bag holds a lot! My husband and kids prefer to use this bag when they travel because it has interior compartments, which make packing and unpacking easier. The only downside is that after a good few years of use, you may notice some small tears in the fabric that cannot be fixed.

Check In L | Rimowa

Stylish, lightweight, and made from polycarbonate that ensures it will last. The Rimowa suitcase is great for packing dressier clothes, but stay away from overpacking – I’ve incurred zipper damage from the interior compartment one too many times. Their customer service, however, is fantastic; I’ve sent suitcases for repair, and they are either returned completely fixed or exchanged for new.

Extended Trip Garment Bag | Tumi

My latest purchase (yet to be used) is this Tumi bag. As an over-packer, especially on trips longer than 3 or 4 nights, I always struggle to fit everything into one suitcase. This caught my eye due to its good compartments and available hanging space for longer dresses. It turned out a bit bulkier than expected, but if it fits everything, it will be worth it!

Rolling No Matter What | Eagle Creek

A big travel rule of mine is bringing an extra duffel so you can bring back whatever purchases you make, as it is so much easier than dealing with the hassle of shipping. This version is expandable and has lasted me for years; I used two of them to take items back from Morocco!

Love the little monogram — easy to tell it’s mine!

This is how the Eagle Creek duffel looks ‘packed’ up!

Keeping it real: the Dakine is great, but do you see the little rip marks on the corner?
